In a galaxy not so far away, construction photos and updates have been released on the all-new Star Wars lands at Walt Disney World and Disneyland. The recent images released by imagineers include two AT-AT walkers next to building construction with landscaping in the background. Disney also released an animated clip in which the skeleton structure of the AT-ATs transform to what they will look like when completed.
The parks originally broke ground on construction back in April 2016 and seem to be on schedule for their openings in 2019. The Hollywood Studios adaptation will be a 14-acre land with two thrilling rides. One will put riders in the middle of a conflict between the Resistance and the First Order. The second will put guests inside the Millenium Falcon to undergo a secret mission. As for the Star Wars land in Disneyland, the adaptation will have a Stormtrooper Battle Escape ride that will require guests to abandon their ride vehicle mid-ride to run away from oncoming First Order Stormtroopers.
Disney will also have areas guests can cool off and relax, including an open market in which cast members will be in character. The lands will also include two dining venues, a cantina and an upscale dinner club to cater to all kinds of guests. So, safe to say the expansions will contain lots of treats for all who come.
